Building on the basics
Very high impact
#Adapting my Web practice

Sharing all of our experiences on social media, in WhatsApp groups or on other applications may be tempting, but is it really necessary to film or illustrate every moment of our daily lives?

A few habits to adopt:

  • Reduce the volume of your messages: give priority to text in the first place for communicating with friends, rather than photos, audio or video. This will prevent the accumulation of gigabytes in your friends’ clouds and reduce the load on the network and data centres. The same applies for GIFs: although they can sometimes be very funny, it is best not to overuse them!
  • Cultivate your share of mystery by only sharing what is really important to you on social media. Big Tech will thus know a little less about you????.

A NUDGE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

If you don’t like deleting your photos or videos in your apps, you can control your storage needs by activating disappearing messages.
