AI is taking root everywhere and is difficult to avoid, in our discussions, questions, work… sometimes without us even being aware of it! It is THE revolution of recent years, but is not without consequences for the environment!
The training of models requires very high-performance equipment (the manufacture of which therefore has a significant environmental impact) and a great deal of energy.
Moreover, our prompts/queries consume energy, as well as water to cool the data centres used. When they are capable of providing the same service, it is better to use traditional tools rather than AI.
For example, it is better to make an Internet search or use Wikipedia rather than asking ChatGPT. And when it is unavoidable, get straight to the point: no more superfluous conversations!
